Review of Cashiers, North Carolina

Mountain Paradise with Few People
Star Rating - 9/16/2017
This is a hidden gem of a place to live. Not only are the towns of Highlands and Cashiers like "sister" towns, this area offers a quiet serenity that is hard to find elsewhere. There are excellent golfing communities here. The summer temperatures average in the 70's. Winters are not "snow packed" like many mistakenly think. In fact, many leave for winter months which only are at their worst in January and February. We have nearby Lake Glenville at an elevation of 3494. There are great restaurants and shops. There's no Wal-Mart not McDonalds, which keep this place VERY nice. Plenty of hiking trails and waterfalls. I've lived here a lifetime and haven't seen it all. There's the Village Green which is the public park that offers live music in the summer months. This is not the city, but a place of respite and solitude. Still, there's plenty to do unless your one of those that have to be tied to a device, in which case you will miss out on so much natural beauty. It's around every corner.
