Review of Louisburg, North Carolina

Escaped the northeast, ready for a new lifestyle
Star Rating - 7/20/2020
While our mailing address is Louisburg, we actually live about 10 miles from town, to the south.

I am retired, so employment and commuting wasn't an issue.

We moved to the area to escape our 37 year home in new England. We left behind a lot of close friends, but also high taxes, deep snow, long cold winters, and a liberal progressive government we hated.

We came to the rolling hills of North Carolina to be near our daughter and son in law. We welcomed the change and embraced a new way to live. I love the accent and hope to pick up a bit of it myself. I've complimented the locals and they've been very friendly and helpful. The degree to which you fit in is governed by your attitude, and under your control.

Years ago, when we were much younger, we moved from upstate NY to northern California for a job. We missed our familiar lifestyle and old friends. Our attitude caused us to be unhappy and to leave after two years.

So, don't move to a new area and expect it to cater to your likes, but instead embrace new experiences and have an open mind. No place is perfect, but is what you make it.

We love the rolling hills of central NC. Now, where can I get a real pizza! :O)
