Review of Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania

Beaver Falls
Star Rating - 5/13/2015
Let's see. I have lived in Beaver Falls for 2 1/2 years now. There are some positives and a lot of minimum wage jobs and it is only 40 minutes from Pittsburgh. Very affordable housing. People who are from here can't imagine living anywhere else probably because this is their reality.
Here are the things I don't like that are making me want to move. Downtown is kind of dumpy and half the storefronts are empty and people don't use crosswalks. When I get off work at night the only place open is McDonalds. If you didn't grow up here, it is extremely difficult to make friends, which is apparently a Pittsburgh thing. It's not that the people are rude, it's just that everyone here is from this area so the conversations are about growing up together and high school rivalries and such. I still don't have anyone I would consider a friend here.
Also, if you are not into sports, namely Pittsburgh teams, you will feel like an outsider. They know the players and everyone revolves their lives around the Steelers, Pirates, and Penguins.
You can get cheap property but good luck getting a handyman to help you fix anything or getting a real estate agent to keep an appointment. Very unprofessional.
I have not been on a date with anyone from here for various reasons and that too is frustrating.
In short, I am here biding my time and saving money to go somewhere else because I am mentally starving here.
