Truth about San Diego's hidden North County jewel
Star Rating - 10/27/2019
Despite some negative troll posts here, Vista is without doubt one of Americanas great cities. Listed in the '50 Best Places to Raise a Family' in 1994 2004 and 2014... it is the only city in America listed twice.. and a third time. Coastal Mediterranean climes give Vista bragging rights to 'more 72 degree days per year than any city in the USA... and has for 65 straight years" as detailed in the PBS Special. The amazingly diversity of neighborhoods... Trending ShadowRidge for surburbanites..... Warmlands for those seeking estate or more rural living... Vista exceeds home sale prices for Carlsbad and several other coastal communities for its low crime, ocean breezes each evening, small business friendly environment (the largest industrial park buffers the small town neighborhoods from the sprawl of San Marcos. As part of the 78 Fwy North County corridor... transportation is easy to the Beach (5 to 7 miles) or east to the rural heartlands on San Diego County.... yet city streets remain traffic light and transportation includes efficient bus and light rail for commutes if you choose. Vistans are upper middle income but with a full spectrum of professionals and blue collar commuters. The avg home price exceeds Carlsbad as does the avg income. We moved from Marina Del Mar 12 years ago when we retired and have found many coastal LA and Ventura and Santa Barbara transplants like ourselves who find the clean air, relatively new services (from shopping to health care to auto care to home services) and warm community feel throughout Vista. From the Rancho Adobe history to the new Civic Center.... the largest Amphitheater in SD County the amazingly diverse dining and entertainment (water park, creek walks, Nature Conservancy trails) more trees AND pars per capita than ANY city in SD County... and but 15 minutes from the beach and 40 minutes for down town SD.... Vista simple offers it all.
Sad to find a troll review misbranding Vista from someone ignorant of Vista's facts here. But.... take it from a real resident.... we hope you find the fun, vacation or home you seek in Vista.... any time of the year.
Vista.... hard to find it any better.

Agreed - I had to add my own review after seeing the troll reviews. We're a young couple and just couldn't stomach the idea of paying $200K more for 1/3rd of the home in San Diego proper. We've fallen in love with Vista and plan to be here a while.
