I use to live in both Wauchula and Bowling Green and I also return there to visit when ever I can. I still find this area to have friendly citizens who smile and wave as you pass them on the street, And they do not mind going out of their way to help you if you find yourself in need. I wish over and over that I could afford to move back to this area to live out the rest of my life. The only problem I find with the area is that there are not any high paying jobs in the area and it causes citizens to move away, the cost of the homes are also way above the cost of what they should be for an area that only has low paying jobs in the area. Which can be blamed on the political parties who hold office in the small cities and Hardee County as well as the realtors in general. The citizens needs to band together and start voting people out of office who are not bringing companies into the area that paying higher wages, and stop backing the mines that are making the ground water and rivers, lakes and streams unsafe as I have read and heard about. I have also read where the mines are making the land they are using hard to reuse. If what I have heard about certain government officials traveling to India and other countries to learn about growing Dates and other crops around Hardee County then I ask myself as a former citizen who can remember when the jobs were there for the farmers who grew Cucumbers, Peppers, Tomatoes, Egg Plants, and other vegetables that had workers at the packing sheds like MO BO's and others what about the fruit pickers like the Oranges, Grape Fruit, and others help find an answer to the problems that causing the fruit crops to die off instead of bringing in another crop from another country that may fail. With the packing houses needing the produce workers to grade and pack the items for shipping it also created a need for the REEVEL CRATE MILL which made the shipping crates for the produce. What I am saying is there are answers to bringing jobs into Hardee County but the leaders of Hardee County has go to get off of their butts and do the right thing in order to get them to come there, and the Citizens of Hardee County have go to vote the leaders out of office who are not doing what they are suppose to be doing LOOKING OUT FOR HARDEE COUNTY and the BEST INTEREST FOR IT'S CITIZENS! Anyone can complain about a county or a city, or a school system but it takes the citizens to make the changes by voting the right leaders into office and voting the wrong leaders out of office
