Review of Foresthill, California

Small Town
Star Rating - 7/19/2009
Foresthill is a retirement community mostly. It is small and beautiful; with local lakes and rivers. The town itself doesn't have much of an economy, and it is difficult for businesses to survive here. Because of the small population and low enrollment combined with the California budget cuts, the schools have sufferred greatly. It is a sweet place though, and has a nice small town feel for raising your kids.

Lynse, although I don't have school age kids, I agree with the issue regarding the schools in Foresthill. They don't seem to put any effort into English. Nobody, including the adults, can speak proper English, their grammar is atrocious and they can't spell. How can a kid have kind of future in a decent job or college if they don't know these basics? Unfortunately, the adults that grew up here are no better. If you are looking to move and have kids, the housing shortage created by the fire in Paradise has given people the opportunity to sell their homes for twice what it's worth. At these prices, you should be able to get a much better education for your money.
