Too many restaurants and fast food joints. Lots of new housing being built, trailer parks and home of MCAS Cherry Point. Small businesses here and there, but that will change since they just put up a Walmart. Cost of living is cheap. Lots of places to hunt and fish. It's a small town, takes about 5-10 minutes to drive right through it on HWY 70 depending on the traffic. People usually drive outside of Havelock to do most anything.
