Review of McKinleyville, California

Good small town feel, but limited
Star Rating - 10/25/2009
McKinleyville, CA, just north of the college town of Arcata is more of a bedroom community than real town. It is right on the Pacific Ocean, is quiet, and safe. Its proximity to the beach and parks (including parks with redwood trees) makes it wonderful for outdoor activities, as long as you don't mind cloudy weather in winter and donning rain gear.

McKinleyville Calif. has it all. It has great schools and everything you need is at your fingertips in this sweet town. We raised three children here. All are now college graduates, married and successful. New businesses are popping up every year, keeping the community fresh and growing. If you enjoy the outdoors, this breath taking community is for you! You can walk/jog along the pristine beaches and breathtaking giant redwood trails on the same day. Beautiful Cal Poly Humboldt is only a few miles away.
