Review of Los Osos, California

I've lived here on and off since 1987. Unfortunately, we are having a bit of a homeless issue of off Palisades avenue. But besides that, this is the quintessential bedroom community. Los Osos/Baywood Park is situated at the South end of the body of water known as Morro Bay. The world renowned National Park, "Montana de Oro," is at the West end of Los Osos, and provides a beautiful beach called Spooner's Cove, a glorious camp site, and miles of hiking, biking, and horse trails. Moreover, there is Sweet Springs Natural Preserve and the Elfin Forrest. This area is off the beaten track just a bit so you don't get the influx of tourist that jam Morro Bay and Pismo Beach during the holidays. We've had a sewer issue here for the last 30+ years so that has stopped nearly all new housing until, wait for it, 2021. The town's acreage is limited to no more than 17,000 people and we are already around 12,000. This is the hidden gem in the Central Coast and will be exorbitantly expensive perhaps in 20 or so years.
