Review of Three Points, Arizona

Three Points, the escape from Tucson
Star Rating - 5/22/2008
My wife and son and I moved to Three Points one year ago, after 29 years of living in central Tucson. I am not surprised at the growth rate you report--you get far more home for the money in Three Points versus Tucson. Although the overwhelming majority are manufactured homes, the average home is between $100,000 to $150,000 for a 1500-2200 sq. ft. home on 1-5 acres of land. The mountain views in the Sierrita Mountain foothills are fantastic, the atmosphere is generally quiet, and at night quite dark (due to nearby Kitt Peak observatory). Ajo Way (State Route 86) provides a good 45-minute commute to Tucson for working adults. It is not congested presently, but I fear that as more Tucsonans discover what we have, the county will have to widen the highway to accomodate the increase in Three Points commuters. Even with the sharp increase in gas prices, a lower mortgage payment in Three Points still more than offsets the cost of the extra amount of gas required to commute.
