Review of Walnut Creek, California

Hot Summers, Mild to Cold Winters (no snow)
Star Rating - 11/13/2014
Walnut Creek is a wonderful place to live. The city was well conceived by its founding fathers, and it remains friendly, compact, and suited to people of all ages. Downtown is wonderful, filled with shops and restaurants. There are excellent libraries, and we have a well-respected performing arts center: Lesher Theater. Schools are good, and the residents in town take care to keep their properties looking well-groomed and clean.

CLIMATE: The climate takes some getting used to if you are moving from a cold/snowy/frosty location. Summers can be HOT (80s-90s) with clear blue skies that continue for five months. Very consistent summer weather from June to October. In the evenings, it cools down, and there are nice breezes to cool your home. Starting in November, the weather cools and brings some rain. The coldest winters can be in the 30s, but generally it's in the 50s. Rain comes and goes, but the sky stays bright.

Sometimes Mt. Diablo gets a dusting of snow, but no snow falls on the city below.

Walnut Creek is worth consideration. Take a look!
