Review of Harrisburg, North Carolina

Close to Perfection
Star Rating - 1/7/2013
I have lived in Harrisburg, NC since 2002. I moved here from a suburb of Detroit. I wanted to live in an area that was close to Charlotte, but still had a small town feel. This is it! There has been a bit of growth since I moved here. This used to be a little bit more or a rural area. Now we have a growing town center and neighborhoods have been built. My neighborhood: some of the houses are on almost an acre of land, there is a small lake and lots of trees. People are friendly and you run into people you know in the grocery store, etc. The weather cannot be beat. We get the change of seasons, but not a bitter winter. We get about 1 snow a year and it melts the next day (LOVE). The locals will complain about the humidity in the summer, but they are not familiar with what humidity is all about. It is a bit humid, but it is perfect: your skin doesn't dry out the minute you walk out the door, like it does in Vegas or California.
The little town has a facebook page that is called: "Harrisburg NC, GREATEST city in North Carolina!" Virtually all of the residents 'like' the page and they support the local businesses.
