I've lived in Chowchilla, CA for about four years. Summer weather is hot; almost never lower than 95F until the end of August. Horribly dry; besides native plants and ones that are watered, all vegetation is dead. Go outside, it'll be the same thing every day:sunny, hot, hazy (smoggy), and cloudless. The winter is alright. When it rains things start to turn green and it feels clean. When there is no fog or smog you can see the mountains which are a sight for sore eyes.
Large illegal population which is a degrading sight. People constantly use ain't, I seen it/you, and other incorrect forms of grammer. There are no Targets, Wal-Marts, Michaels, Dillards, etc.; however there is a Rite Aid and a Savemart.
Most of the people here are set on things never changing. For example, when the Savemart moved from one side of town to the other people had a fit because they had to drive an extra three minutes to get to the grocery store, to buy beer of course!
No large coorperations here, so the jobs are basically ag., working in a store, education (Elementary, MS, and HS.), and the city.
A final word BeWaRe! if you have a low car i.e. a Ferrari the city does not have storm drains so so there are severe dips in the road and beginning of driveways.

The town is truly and sadly becoming a 3rd world country now, It has become even more filthy and horrid in 2020. A lot of it is due to sanctuary status, and a lot of it is due to the fact that it is completely surrounded, and pretty much engulfed by almond orchards. Crop-dusting occurs around the clock 7 days a week launching fungicide, herbicide, and insecticide covering the entire town in a toxic fog soup. it has become so bad and out of control with almond orchards and pesticides, kids Walk to school wearing dam filter masks so they don't become sickened with bad asthma, respiratory infections, skin rashes and hopefully not worse! You call the county about it, and you are eventually greeted with sarcasm, and ignored! Sad.. really not a healthy place to live at all.. don't get me started on the freaking toxic sludge they call drinking water which is full of major contaminants.. oh and talk about hateful people! Of which I would be willing to bet has to do with the nuclear Fall out apocalyptic air quality, or the zombie apocalypse inducing water.. can you say AGENDA 21 lol!!
