Review of Sweden, Maine

Quality of Life
Star Rating - 5/10/2008
I live in Sweden Maine. I feel bad for people who live in over crowded cities and think they have it good. Living in a rural community with only 324 people sure puts things in perspective. Every one knows each other and cares about their neighbors. When some one if facing illness or hardship the towns people are ready and willing to come together to assist in any way they can without ever compromising the dignity of the one they are helping. We love our town gatherings and Sweden old home days. You should see our variety show, every one who has any kind of talent is encouraged to come and share it. We have public suppers to raise money for local organizations and causes. I love my little quite town in the valley of the white mountains. I used to sit in Boston traffic to get to work and choke on exhaust while tring not to notice the rude gestures and even ruder driving behavior of others. Now my commute is down picturesque county roads, past farms with grazing livestock and people wave when you go by. I make less money, but don't need as much. The trade off is priceless.
