Review of Soquel, California

Nice Place, but too small.
Star Rating - 7/25/2017
I moved to Soquel at 24 after I graduated UC Santa Cruz. It's a beautiful town wedged right up against the coast line. However, it's too small. Many of the people who live there are long time residents who stick to themselves. While there, I got a sense that they were not too keen on outsiders (I'm originally from the Bay Area). It's a good place to raise a family but given my age it's not a very fast paced place. Instead, it is VERY laid back. I felt very safe though walking down the street at night. Streets are very poorly lit but never once did I ever feel like I was in any danger. Soquel is also VERY expensive. I guess living in a place like that comes with a price!
PROS:
Safe
Clean
Friendly-ish people
Close to the beach
Dog friendly

CONS:
Slow paced
Expensive $$$$
Traffic
"Bubble" mentality

Overall, if I made six figures and I was close to retirement, I'd give Soquel a second thought. In the meantime, I packed my bags and moved to San Diego recently.
