I've lived in this area for over 20 years. All in all, it's a good place to raise a family. Belton ISD has a good state rating. There is usually some sort of activity each weekend for families. I'm not sure how old the climate data is that Best Places uses in their statistics, but it seems a bit outdated. The average high temperature in this area for the past several years has exceeded well past 90 degrees during the summer months which drags on through September and sometimes October. During the past couple years, we have had heat indexes over 100 degrees for most days in the summer. If you don't mind the heat, you'll love it here.
