Does anyone know way the locals pronounce Alvord, Texas "Alvoid" I have yet anyone give me a clear explination on why this is so.

We heard KDFW's meteorologist Dan Henry says "Alvoid" a LOT when tornadoes hit there March 20, 2020. We had never heard that before, and don't know where he learned it
