It's OK... could be better

So...
Nashville doesn't TRUELY "live up" to the Hype but it's not bad either...
It tries to paint itself as "Southern" but the reality is it isn't... Probably compared to places up North or the West Coast it might be "southern"...
Actually the surrounding areas and suburbs (Brentwood/Franklin/Murfreesboro/Knox/Chatanooga/etc) would definitely be classified as "Southern".
Tennessee is a VERY BEAUTIFUL state as a whole let me say that... when the weather is nice that is (lol).
Nash just doesn't really live up to the "hype" . It is VERY, VERY touristy so it can seem very "transient". I will admit that part of the reason I came was I had a connection from another state for a VERY VERY HIGH PAYING job.
Although it is the country music capital... It just isn't that Southern to be honest with you. In comparison, I would call Lexington as very Southern. Nash seems much more liberal in comparison. That's not to say it's a bad thing but it brings to mind... well "What do you want Nash to be?"
It IS the Country Music Capital but you already have cities like Minneapolis and Austin which are FAR AHEAD of Nashville and a little "more established/gentrified".
That being said... unfortunatley in Nashville you can still run into "undesirables" in/at RANDOM times/areas. Whereas in Austin or Minneapolis you would never have that chance... but those are more "gentrified" areas.
You also have a lot of transplants from "non southern" areas of the country or backgrounds that can come into Nash and it gives it more of a "fake" vibe... That's probably where a lot of the "fake" comments come from.
All in all it's ok... I'd honestly prefer to visit than live in... the suburbs are nice though
