Review of Schertz, Texas

Avoid Schertz

Agree with you completely Tammy. Ready to move out. But we've been here 14 years, including a 2 year overseas stay. The previous mayor,(Baldwin) turned was a charming semi rural community into a strip mall. This town is almost completely locked out to the outside, increased population and concrete make it a nightmare for residents. Pollution and crime are climbing, as in any rapidly increasing populated area. I35 has been under reconstruction for over a year. The current Council is hell bent on attracting more businesses, a lot of them using 18 wheelers. Wherever there is a blade of grass, they intend on covering it with concrete and put a fast food joint, car wash or other business. In 5 years, it will be impossible to get in or out of this nightmarish place. Property taxes are exorbitant and a lot of taxpayer money is wasted on a weekly basis. Our house is paid for, I am semi-retired and try to get out as little as possible. How elected officials can manage to destroy a community in just a few years is baffling.. No need to look at DC for waste and an arrogant Government. We are equipped here..!! Good luck. !
