We've moved around the country as a result of position relocations for my husbands career. Beavercreek, Ohio is the worst! Try smiling at a stranger and see what you get- either a miserable frown or nothing at all. People are so self-absorbed in meaningless busy-ness, they have no time for strangers to become friends. The church is no better. Like automatrons, they say "Peace be with you", but the looks on their faces don't back up the sentiment and just forget anyone approaching you, doesn't happen.
Can't wait for our next reassignment to get out of here.
