Ypsilanti has a dubious reputation, but it is a fine place to live. Suffers from the proximity to the 'high society' of Ann Arbor. So, its a great place, quiet and safe. Cost of real estate and taxes approaching 50% of Ann Arbor, and Ypsi is close to just about everything.
