Review of Glens Falls, New York

Safe and courteous
Star Rating - 5/26/2019
Glens Falls is a very courteous small city. I read somewhere it is the safest city for its size in U.S.

Real estate very cheap ( nice 4 bedroom house for under $325k), but being in NYS property and income taxes high.

Economy slowed with Great Recession and local paper companies have not really recover. Global Foundaries in Wilton just to the south though doing a lot of hiring so job prospects improving.

Biggest asset is its being the gateway to the Adirondack Mountains. Get north of touristy Lake George village and you will find some great small towns and 6 million acres of hiking, skiing and boating adventures. Be sure to check out historic North Creek, home to White water rafting, Gore Mt Ski Center, and performing arts at Tannery Pond Community Center.
