DO NOT MOVE HERE UNLESS YOUR A DEVOUT CHRISTIAN WH
Star Rating - 7/27/2014
I moved here from NYC two yrs ago and moving back in 2 months. This is worst place Ive lived in my life! nothing but Jesus freaks and conservative bores who think "FUN" is going hunting or going to church every five minutes. Boring is putting is lightly. Nothing to do here but EAT or go to the mall. Thats why everyone here is out of shape. And if your a liberal forget it. They don't know what that means here...If your a right wing Christian who loves to talk about church all day, you will fit in perfect!

You know Pamela, I lived in NY my whole life Up state in the country/ mountains. People like you are why I want out. You want a nanny state for everyone and lost touch with family values. NY is filled with your kind Tax and spend. Soon NY will be nothing but either your rich or your poor. No more middle class. Us who live in the country and own property have been paying for your city asses forever I get a transportation tax to support your public transportation and don't even live there. I'm wishing I can get out soon and find a place like Franklin or a place of similar values. But I need to have a Hockey Ring for my Son to play on. I have an ideal for you try California Full of liberals you will love it.

Franklin TN sounds like a dream or should I say a blessing! My only question is what did you expect when moving in the Bible Belt? It sounds like you should have moved in Nashville or Knoxville where it’s less conservative. It’s interesting people move to other places and expect everyone else to change for them. Research before moving you may save a lot of time and money. Be blessed.

Hey Pamela, I'm sure you fit in much better back in NYC. I am one of those proud Christians who happily resided in Franklin for two years. It was actually the best experience to date. While I am conservative and love the Lord, I do not find every single person there to fit your stereotype. I get offended when non-Christians label us one way; your view is extremely flawed and uneducated. A true Christian leads by example of Jesus Christ; someone who is loving, kind, generous and who remains humble. The opposite of that would be pride which is what causes Lucifer to be cast out of heaven. It's not just the act of believing but accepting Jesus as your Lord and Savior who was sent by God to die on the cross for all of mankind. You don't go to heaven based on being a good person or works alone, you get there by confessing with your mouth and believing in your heart that Jesus Christ is the Savior of the world and that His precious blood was shed so that we could have eternal life. You may or may not read this, if you do, I hope that you will please consider what this means and if you have any further questions, I'd be happy to try and answer them. We are not promised tomorrow, in fact, biblical prophecy shows that His second coming is imminent. I can show you what His word says about that. It's very simple. All you have to do repent and believe. God loves you so much, He has enough grace to cover everyone's sin. He views all sin the same; there's nothing anyone can do to keep us from Him. Believe today before it's too late. At first I was bothered by the fact that you had such negative reaction to a place I love so much but then I opened my heart and wanted to share Jesus with you. His love is everlasting, His faithfulness unending. He is for you, Pamela! May God speak to you through this post. :)

Now you know what it is like when conservatives have to deal with pretentious, obnoxious, self-absorbed whacked-out Liberals in NY and most of the NE. You've lived a sheltered, and most likely brainwashed life where liberal leaders have told you what to do and what to think. And now your mayor wants to control your salt shakers and the size of your colas. You won't be missed in TN.

Nice to know bigotry is alive and well. Only now, It’s Christians and conservatives who have to sit in the back of the bus. I’m with Angelo from Middletown NY - I’ve been an upstate NY resident for most of my life, but it’s time to leave. NY is #1 in overall tax burden, even ahead of Hawaii and California and I’m tired of being told, in effect, “shut up and pay your taxes. Your faith and politics aren’t welcome here in NY.” (A loose paraphrase of what NY governor Cuomo said in a 2014 speech). TN weather probably wouldn’t work for me, but I wouldn’t object at all to sharing the neighborhood with Jesus freaks, conservative bores and hunters.

I'm sorry you're so miserable. Some Yankees fit it, some don't. I'm sure you will be happier north of the Mason-Dixon Line, with the added benefit that the intelligence level of our (Southern) gene pool just went up several points!

Hello Pamela, have you considered hanging out with Franklin homie Miley Cyrus? She's a wild and crazy happenin gal and still owns a place here. Hit her up. Maybe the two of you could party (and twerk) the night away out at the ranch. It might give you a more suitable impression of the town.

All these comments just prove how right you are. People are calling you a liberal (as if it was an insult, it's not), stupid, a slut, and obnoxious. I don't presume to know what God thinks, but I would bet he is disappointed in his followers. Plus most of these comments aren't even from people who live in Franklin. I've found Franklin to be unwelcoming to certain Christians. I've heard nasty comments about Catholics and Methodists (for different reasons). It's an unwelcoming community.

I was born and raised in Manhattan, 82nd Columbus Ave to be exact. I moved to Tennessee with my parents in 1995 because they wanted their children out of NYC. We are not conservatives nor liberals, and we do believe in God. It was a BIG culture shock at first, racism, rudeness, confederate flag, Hillbillies and I could go on. I can tell you Pamela, that you are not wrong nor right. My dad used to say "there are stupid people everywhere", you just surround yourself with good people. Well I have lived in TN for 23yrs and I have amazing friends, many are super religious. My husband and I raised 3 amazing children in Mt Juliet and Franklin. The way the world is going, we have to find a safe, loving, family-oriented place to raise our families. I want to say that those who were rude in their comments, you just proved Pamela's point! Are you all familiar with the phrase "kill them with kindness". It is imperative that you don't give TN a bad name. You live here, you should spread the love and kindness God tells you about in the bible. One thing that is very important, you cannot impose God to a person. We are ALL his children no matter whether someone wants to go to church or not. So dear Pamela, I wish you well and I am positive you will find your happy place soon. Take care.

I’ve lived in Franklin for 5 years and the only Jesus freak I met was from California. Unless you like to ski, the weather is better for anything you want to do outside. Franklin is a little reserved, but if you want to get crazy, Nashville is a 20 minute drive. The problem is, so many people are moving here that the home prices have doubled (no exaggeration) in the 5 years we’ve been here.
