Review of Chino, California

I once loved it now I hate it!
Star Rating - 11/10/2021
I have lived in Chino my whole life, and planned on retiring here one day, until about 10 years ago. Boy did this city change almost overnight. It used to be a safe, beautiful, peaceful city where everyone knew each other. It was mostly Dutch, Portuguese, and Hispanic dairymen, and workers. That was when the dairy farms were still around, but once they kicked them and the cows out they started popping up warehouses, industrial buildings, and houses everywhere. The city has become so crowded, and there is a lot of theft, drugs, gang violence, and crime now. It’s so sad that this once beautiful city has been tarnished so bad that I’m selling my house and getting out of here. I used to think that I had the best of everything because Chino is 45 mins from the beach, the mountains, the desert, and the weather used to be so nice. Unfortunately now it’s about an hour and a half from everywhere because traffic is so bad, and the weather is so hot here all year round. Even in the winter time it’s still warm, no more foggy or rainy days like it had before. Plus the cost of living here in Chino is outrageous. The average house goes for $600,000 and the minimum wage is $13.00 an hour. I don’t know how kids today could ever get ahead here. Gas is over $4 a gallon and the traffic is horrendous. The Chino school district used to have some good schools but not anymore. I don’t know how they expect kids to learn when you’ve got over 30 kids in a classroom, and they’re required to wear masks all day at school. So many of the smaller stores and mom and pop shops have gone out of business. This city is being taken over by Costco, Amazon, Walmart, Get out of here while you can.
