Review of Sedalia, Missouri

10 years here
Star Rating - 8/27/2011
We came here in 2001 after living in Myrtle Beach SC for 13 years. We ended up here because I was offered and accepted a position at Whiteman AFB. Mostly, It's been tough getting used to the distances you have to go to do anything. The largest town close to us is Columbia (University of Missouri-Columbia) and it's an hour away. Next is Kansas City, about an hour and a half away. And work is a 23 mile trip one way for me. The countryside is beautiful- all rolling hills and farmland but the people who have generations here are fairly suspicious of outsiders and it has been really hard to fit in. We came here from 13 years living in Myrtle Beach SC and being as I am retiring from Civil Service this year, that's where we're going back to.
