I lived in Kingston, WA for 2 years 2017 - 2019 (prior to that 6 years in Oceanside, CA and 20+ years in the Foothills around Sacramento). Moved to JAX in 2019 with a job transfer. Did not like the flatness and heat of Florida compared to West Coast. Cost was more affordable though and I grew to like the Atlantic / Neptune Beach area and downtown JAX has its ambiance too (though I would not recommend the South side). St. Augustine is a great place to hang out as is Fernandina Beach. We did move up to the Mid - Atlantic now to be near family and I do find myself missing JAX sometimes. I mostly miss San Diego area though. Kitsap County WA was a beautiful place to live but the dark and dreary winters got to me. I had to commute into Seattle by ferry 3 days a week when I lived there and I don't have to tell you about the traffic on I5 / 405 (it was worse than SoCal honestly). For the money JAX was great but its also gotten much more expensive since we left in 2021.
