Review of Madisonville, Texas

Bedias Texas 77831
Star Rating - 7/4/2007
I moved to Bedias Texas apx 1992. My experiences there were anything but pleasant. The adult illitercy rate is very high. The wages paid by employers are substandard if you can find employment. You will likely commute to Bryan/College Station or Houston for Realistic wages. There seems to be no building codes enforced, most Bedias homes have no sewage/septic system. The sewage from many homes in town flows into drainage ditches along the dirt roads. When I first moved there I thought the community was quaint, but quickly realized that I had moved to a depressed little town that will likely never be anything but a stop on Tx. Hwy 90 and Tx FM road 1696. I have traveled worldwide and have been raised not to judge people, however Bedias Texas seems to be a waiting room for Jerry Springer show auditions. We sold our home apx 6/01 at apx 34% loss so we could leave this awful place. Decent, clean, moral people should avoid Bedias like cholera. Even Steve Accord the former local Justic of the Peace told me he wouldn't give $100,000 for the whole town. The crime rate is awful for such a small place, the locals put more value on a dog than a human. If you like mean rude backwards living in muddy narrow mindedness, Bedias will suit you fine. We now live in another state in a private gated community and have found peace and happiness. This post is listed under Madisonville because Bedias is not listed under cities and Madisonville is the closest city.
