A good town

Tifton is an good city. It depends on your age and what you’re looking for.If your looking for a party town with a lot of clubs Tifton is not for you. If you are looing for somewhere that has a hometown feel family oriented this town is for you! I've been here my entire life. The school system is good. I would know because I have kids that are in school here and I went to school here and also went to college here. We are the reading capital of the world.The teachers here really encourage reading. The area south of hwy 82 is majority African American and not all the areas are infested with drug abusers and abandoned houses. There are some nice neighborhoods and several schools south of hwy 82. I feel that there are a lot of cities that have rough spots but I don't feel Tifton is as bad. I live closer to the hospital which is a nice area but I have seen almost every area of Tifton due to having friend and family all over. I agree about not being able to get a good paying jobs here. I went to college got my degree and I still can't get a job in Tifton. It's all about who you know here. I have to travel 45min - 1hr for my job. I'm wanting to move from Tifton because of the commute to my job.I'm tired of driving to my job but I think it would be a good town to come back to and retire.
