Review of Perris, California

Long Time Resident Review of Perris, CA
Star Rating - 12/3/2022
I've lived in Perris since 1980 and it's changed from a small town of farmers to a city of almost 80,000 people. I'll mention the changes a bit down in my review.

Perris is located very near I 215, and with that convenience we deal with lots of traffic to and from San Diego, Orange, San Bernardino and Los Angeles Counties. We also have quite a few warehouses, with more being built every day. The truck traffic can be a problem during certain times of the day, but traffic is just a fact of life in California. You learn to deal with it and figure out the best times to travel without too much traffic.

You really can't beat the convenience of being next to a major interstate and being just an hour or so from so many attractions like Universal Studios, DisneyLand, Sea World, the world famous San Diego Zoo and Safari Park, not to mention all the beaches and other attractions we are so lucky to have in Southern California. We also have the beauty of Big Bear Mountain, Idyllwild and our desert communities of Palm Springs and Palm Desert just about an hour away. We have literally been in the desert, the mountains and the beach all in one day. We also have major airports near us, LAX (which can be quite a pain to get to with traffic), Ontario, San Diego and Palm Springs. Palm Springs is by far my favorite airport.

My neighbors are all very nice. We do have a lot of immigrant families of mostly Mexican decent living in Perris. With that comes a clash of cultures, which to some might not be an issue. I am speaking of multiple generations of people living in single family homes, multiple cars with limited parking, so these cars sometimes end up parked across sidewalks or in the front yard. Loud parties with live bands nearly every Friday and Saturday night. The parties and noise, to me, is the biggest quality of life issue I have in the City of Perris. The noise drives be bonkers, but others don't seem to mind it.

Perris is an affordable community with many, many good people. We have experienced growing pains with the new warehouses and traffic that comes with that. It is also a younger community, which is why I'm thinking of relocating. Cars drive too fast, it's too noisy and crowded for me. Overall, I have enjoyed living in Perris. But at this point in my life I think I need some elbow room and a quieter life.
