I don’t feel like I’m in Amarillo!

Timbercreek Canyon is a gated community about 10 miles south of downtown Amarillo.
Several years ago, I was looking for some land where I planned to build my house. My realtor told me about Timbercreek Canyon. It has the lowest crime rate of Amarillo. I decided to visit. When I drove up to the gate, I had to dial a phone number in my cellphone. That’s what opened up the gate. It didn’t take more than 20 yards when I was left speechless by the beauty that I saw. Let me explain— TCC is the area around a fork of a fork of Palo Duro Canyon. This is the only place in Amarillo that has mountains! Actually, they are not mountains, but the north part of TCC overlooks a small valley. I stepped onto the land my realtor recommended in TCC. It was on the top of a hill overlooking the entire village! I HAD to build my house there! I angled my house so the winter sun wakes me up in the morning. I go outside at night and I often see the glow of the Milky Way. It is common to see deer, roadrunners, rabbits, and raccoons. I have also seen skunk, bobcats, and even (I swear!) a jaguarundi. It’s like living in a zoo with the most amazing view imaginable! At night it is so quiet that you can actually hear the deer walking.
I love it here.
