Review of Houston, Texas

Houston is a very pleasant surprise
Star Rating - 11/6/2007
Overnight visitors are often underwhelmed by Houston. But behind our ubiquitous
strip malls and freeways are gorgeous neighborhoods, attractive and affordable custom built homes constructed from the 1960's - 1980's, and even some excellent schools.

The city is viscous w/ diversity and people are warm and friendly. I came for a week three years ago and decided to stay. It wasn't even on my list of places to relocate to. The weather is very pleasant from October - March and hot from April - September.

Plenty of museums and restaurants, two airports, and lots of interesting places to visit w/in a short drive. Its the most affordable US city I've lived in. That's partially due to the sprawl. There is plenty of land for the cuty to expand.

Im from Nebraska and want to move to a coastal area. How far exactly is houston from the beach? Do you know what a two bedroom apartment in southern houston go for? Would you recomend moving there to a small town young single hairstylist??? Ive done research in a variety of towns along the gulf coast and houston so far seems like the smartest choice. What do u think? I love warm humid weather and a lower cost of living and a big city to keep me entertained. Is houston for me?
