please dont listen to any people that do not know what they're talking about. Yes, this neighborhood is no compton california lol. however, its has its negatives. The schools are low performing, and have many behavior issues. With latinos (mexican americans) getting more and more populated in the neighborhood, you can expect great mexican food. bubba chinos off 20th and lamar is great and la cascada off 20th and depew is bomb too. im 17 living in edgewater and i KNOW what its like. people that dont interact with the kids that go to school here or walk around the neighborhood (all parts!) dont really have a fair playing field to way in on this hood. the schools are 80% latino (and im latino, im not a racist), and they have sets. graffitti is an everyday thing. im willing to bet that most ALL residents of edgewate rhave had to clean off one of their fences at one point or another. and i can remember about 8 gang relate murders since ive lived her. its just part of an urban city man. i enjoy it. graffitti (and sets in the hood) to watch out for: RTS 20st, W$B, NS XIV, GKI, OKW, KH or KHT, SUR X3 (some but not a lot), WM, and others. trust me man i know. my friend cruzito was a GKI member who attended Jefferson high from 2005-2009, and lives off 24th and marshall. and my friend santana is a W$B member who attends jefferson with me, and he lives in the projects off 18th and kendall. trust me, i know what im talking about. now stuff proabably wont happen if you just walk thru here a few times or even if you live here and mind your own business. but you know not to go to the strip mall of west 20th and lamar when jefferson high gets out of school or late at night. trust me.
