Review of Greenwood Village, Colorado

Greenwood Village
Star Rating - 5/18/2010
Living in the Denver Tech Center area of Greenwood Village is like living in downtown Denver, but with less congestion and problems. There are ample restaurants, shopping, schools, parks and easy access to the freeway and other parts of the greater Denver Metro area.

This is probably the best area to live in, in the Denver Metro area. The average housing cost in GW itself is over a million, but if you go literally a block to the south to Centennial, prices are half that (as of July 2022; heaven knows that can change). The weather is sunny, but hot and dry and getting dryer every summer. Winters are sunny as well, which helps with SADD but again, getting dryer so not as much snow as in the past. As for shopping, restaurants, brew pubs, take your pick! Many within biking distance or a couple of minutes by car. And, if you want to go downtown, there are three Lightrail stops nearby that are easy and safe to use. The libraries are top notch, there are nice trails to walk, people are friendly enough to say hi, but you might have to work at making real friends. The school district though is honestly riding on an old reputation and is not the end all be all that is advertised. If you have a son, the first thing they'll do is tell you he needs meds. 70% of the boys in my kid's elementary class were on ADHD meds pre-pandemic, which is ridiculous. But, overall, a safe, clean, suburban place to live with lots of sunlight.
