Review of Pittsboro, North Carolina

Pittsboro is not the place for Conservatives
Star Rating - 2/11/2021
I lived in Pittsboro for 12 years. The topography is beautiful, rolling green hills. The weather is ok with occasional snow, but mostly mild climate. It can get pretty hot in the summer. The location, about equal distance from mountains and beaches, is perfect. Also ready access to the lake is great. The politics suck. The Yankees have found the place and with a few notable exceptions, they have drought their liberal politics with them. If you are conservative, you will not be comfortable there. I loved my home there but became so distressed over the politics, we sold out and moved to Alabama. The story is very old, as a conservative, if I don’t like something, I don’t involve myself. Whereas, if the liberals don’t like something, then it has to be eliminated! Conservative? Try Alabama, you’ll like it much better. If you were born and raised in Dixie, you’ll be very uncomfortable there!

John, your observation of this political phenomenon has been noted in many southern states. My wife and I (Yankees), plan on moving to NC, as we are entering these later years of life (60yo), and want to be closer to my daughter who was raised in the Cary/Apex area. Rest assured John, the politics of the North will not be following this Yankee!!!
