Review of Columbia, Maryland

Like most things Not Like It Used to Be
Star Rating - 2/17/2020
Been here 30 years was great at first but once they added a transit bus from baltimore to columbia 15-18 years ago that was the beginning of the end. And about 5 years ago rouse died and chicago planners moved in and took over, ruining the beautiful original landscape that used to be described as a mini san diego. They also chopped down a lot of trees in te neighborhoods which I couldn't stand. They're trying to turn downtown into an uglier chicago type city with skyscraper buildings that block out the columbia landscape and sun. One thing I hate about cities is how you cant see the land sunrise or sunsets. Its just like being in a cage with no bright sun or scenery. After going to places like nyc or philly I always loved coming back to columbia to the more beautiful relaxing scenery. Fresh air and trees. Thats dying out. The mix of races and people has changed too. Instead if a nice mix of races it is now turning into mostly baltimore population of people and east indians for some reason. The places that used to be columbia owned and run are now all owned and run by east indians. Even doctors and clinics. I never liked baltimore and dont care for the people. D.C always had my kind of people. Can definitely tell the population is switching up. I would've never moved here if it wasn't for my family moving and been trying to get out ever since. Lets just say I'll be glad when I finally do. Not the worst place to live, its still got its good things, but ill give it another 10 years if things keep heading the way they are and it will be. I still rather live here than a lot of other places in the country or state but dont think that will last too much longer. Traffic is probably one of the worst in the country. Way too many people who cant drive for s h and who have road rage in one small space. People I know who come from other places near columbia or who live near the state always say why is the traffic so bad here compared to everywhere else. As soon as they drive into columbia they say it changes
