A Clean, Well-Lighted Place [EH] - 8/25/2019
I bought a house in Clearlake in 2018. I have been fixing it for now, mostly clearing and landscaping the yard to my satisfaction. I was able to buy it easily due to the fact that Lake County has some great opportunities for home ownership. Back on the topic of the Clearlake way of life: if you mind your own business, the locals will respect you. That is what I've been doing. I have left the house alone for weeks, more than once (I have security cameras) and when I come back everything is as good as I left it. I am very impressed with the way the neighborhood is. I only have neighbors in front of the street and on one side of the house. They are all different from each other. No one has ever tried to trespass when I am not there. I have a super cranky neighbor who wants the passing cars to slow down. I understand him, he has two grade schoolers. Generally speaking, all my neighbors try to maintain their homes in good condition. I used to live in Santa Cruz and I don't miss the bumper
