It's not what you think - 10/6/2020
Most of what you may read is about the past. It's October 2020 right now. Pasadena, as in all of L.A. has no middle class. Either you're living in a multi-millionaire island community or not. They are surrounded by VERY EXPENSIVE small apartments and condos (800 sq ft, built in 1954 = $2,450/month....cheap around here). Pasadena is a great place to live--everything you could possibly want is within striking distance. Dining, bars, movie theaters, grocery stores, and more are all within walking distance.
