Port Clyde a trip back in time - 2/20/2010
If you are looking for a true New England fishing village you have found it in Port Clyde. I have been visiting this village since I was a small child. I have commented to friends that it is the only place I know of that used to have a school, a library, a gas station, a 5 and 10, a factory. Progress and misfortune have eliminated all these places, while the village continues to keep it's small village charms. You can feel at ease letting your children play at the park unattended or let them get an ice cream cone at the ice cream shoppe. You can converse with locals at the general store, where you will find the only gas pump for miles. You can grab a bite to eat while sitting on the wharf overlooking the harbor. At the fishermen's coop you can partake of the catch of the day for the freshest fish you could ever want.

Port Clyde is a great place to walk or bike. Although, it does have a couple of killer hills. The harbor, Drift Inn Beach and the Marshall Point Read More
