What BestPlaces Users Say about Princeton
Princeton, Massachusetts (zip code: 01541) is a small town located in Worcester County, known for its picturesque New England charm and sprawling natural landscapes. With a population of just over 3,000 residents, it is a tight-knit community that boasts a highly rated public school system and a variety of outdoor recreational activities. However, like any other place, there are both positive and negative aspects of living in Princeton. To gain a better understanding of what it's like to live in this particular area, I have summarized several user reviews from the popular website Bestplaces.net.
Review excerpts:
1. From "JohnC":
"I've lived in Princeton for over 20 years and it's been an amazing experience. The sense of community here is unmatched, and the schools have been top-notch for my kids. The only downside is the lack of diversity, but that's a small price to pay for such a wonderful place to raise a family."
2. From "JenM":
"I moved to Princeton a few years ago and absolutely love it. The natural beauty of this town is breathtaking and there's always something to do outdoors. The people here are friendly and welcoming, and the town events and festivals are a great way to get involved in the community."
3. From "MikeB":
"I've lived in Princeton my whole life and while it's a beautiful town, it's definitely not for everyone. The cost of living is high and there's not much to do for young adults. It's more of a retirement community, which can be isolating for younger residents."
4. From "MariaG":
"I moved to Princeton a few years ago and it's been a bit of a culture shock. While the scenery is lovely, the town can feel a bit too quiet and slow-paced for my liking. The lack of diversity and the limited job opportunities are also major drawbacks for me."

It's categorized as a 'fringe rural' town. It's also a huge tennis town, with an annual tournament that is both the oldest running tennis tournament in the US, and also a huge social event throughout town. The middle school, Thomas Prince, a STEAM school working with WPI, was recently ranked the best middle school in Massachusetts. Mt. Wachusett and many lakes are located within or adjacent to the town boundaries, as are an almost unlimited number of hiking trails. It's a tremendous town in which to
