Living in Ste. Genevieve, MO is a unique experience. The small town has a rich history, being the oldest European settlement in Missouri and one of the oldest west of the Mississippi River. It was founded by French colonists in 1735 and continues to have an influence on the culture of the area. The downtown area is still very traditional with many buildings dating back to the late 1700s and early 1800s that have been carefully preserved and restored. The community is very warm and welcoming, making it easy to feel at home here. There are plenty of activities for people to enjoy whether it be fishing or canoeing on the nearby rivers or exploring any of the historical sites that are found here. With its close proximity to St Louis, Ste Genevieve provides a peaceful escape from city life while also providing access to some of St Louis's best restaurants and attractions.
