Weatherford assets -
7/4/2009Weatherford is large enough to have significant assets: hotels, museums, parks, walking trails, golf course, and Southwestern Oklahoma State University, which has excellent programs in pharmacy, music, recreation, business, and other areas. The Tom Stafford Air and Space Museum would do justice to a city many times the size of Weatherford. The YMCA offers outstanding facilities for recreation and fitness. Location on I-40 makes easy travel to the Oklahoma City metro and a major airport in an hour.
Weatherford is not a bedroom community. Downtown is attractive. Wind energy is a major new development and growing. Weatherford has a history of high tech. The people are friendly. Education is valued. A new performing arts center is under construction and will be complete by 2011. Civic clubs and civic spirit are strong.
I have lived in 10 different cities, visited all 50 states, and travelled on 4 continents. I've lived in Weatherford since 1999 and recommend it heartily.

Tom Stafford Space Museum would do justice to a city many times the size of Weatherford. Southwestern Oklahoma State University has excellent programs in pharmacy, music, recreation, business, and other areas, and contributes greatly to the quality of life in Weatherford. A new performing arts center has been approved and funded and will be completed by 2011. Location on I-40 gives easy access to metro Oklahoma City and major airport in an hour.
Weatherford is small enough to be friendly and welcoming. Downtown is attractive. YMCA offers outstanding facilities for fitness and recreation. Wind energy production is large and growing here. I've lived in Weatherford since 1999, chose to retire here, and recommend it heartily.
