8/22/2022I agree with you mostly.. However transplants are the number one problem in our region. Mostly northerners who have decided that Florida is too hot for them. They have also ruined Florida as well. Now they are coming here and are doing the same. These people try to turn it into the place they are form. They are working on ruining the rest of Western NC as well..

7/9/2021It's people just exactly like you who have helped ruin the area. You moved here seeking a better life, told your friends and relatives back north how wonderful it was and they moved and their friends and family moved and it goes on and on until now it is ruined. Glad you are gone, maybe the rest will leave as soon as all of you transplants leave. You can care less about the actual local culture or it's people. All you care about is the weather and the beach. Good riddance!!

7/4/2021Portland used to be a beautiful city just a few years back. Not now with the heavy influx of uneducated young liberal radicals moving into the city. You have a bunch of uneducated liberals trying to change a city that didn't need to be changed. I guess they think their socialist policies will work and it is obviously not working at all. Much higher crime, homelessness has soared, businesses are closing and leaving the city, poverty is increasing and covert or subtle racism is rampant. Terrible city now that these extreme left winger radicals have taken over.

7/3/2021I agree it's the liberal democrats who have caused all this in so many cities. Liberals love to use the excuse that they are a victim of someone or something. Constant whiners who are perpetually unhappy with everything that is different from them. They have destroyed so many cities with their horrible policies, crime, trash, rioting. Who in their right mind wants to live around these kinds of people. How dare someone try to say it's not the democrats causing this, because it is!! It's who these morons vote for.

Miserable city -
7/3/2021I live in Cleveland for 7 long miserable years. I have lived in many cities and towns across the US and I can truthfully say that Cleveland is the only city where I got extremely depressed. Cloudy, cold and either rain or snow most of the time. The city is dismal to say the least. Crime runs rampant, you just don't feel comfortable in any part of the city. Roads are in deplorable shape. Racism is rampant, jobs are few and far between. Their transit system sucks at best. If you are thinking about moving here, just don't do it!

7/3/2021I lived in Cleveland for many year and could not wait to get out of that nasty hole. Racist, bigotry, drugs and ignorant people abound. The city is full of slums, deteriorating buildings and roads. Crime is rampant no matter what part of the city you live in. It was considered the mistake on the lake in the 70's and the 80's and it still is!! No wonder this city is still losing population.

7/2/2021Yes, I agree Asheville is over ran with liberal transplants who moved to Florida and then complain about the heat and then come to WNC and complain.. AMAZING!! They obviously hated their home in the north and seem to be unhappy any place they live. Liberals are generally just miserable people anyway..

11/26/2020Unfortunately Beaufort county is full of transplanted northerners who do nothing but whine and cry about everything. They leave the north to come to the south and then complain about the area and talk how wonderful the north was. I've actually heard them saying this for all to hear numerous times. I have traveled extensively, the north, especially the northeast is horrible, that is why they are all moving south. They've ruined most of the natural beauty in Beaufort County, traffic is horrendous, housing costs have spiraled out of control. Gated communities are everywhere which limit beach access to most. Golf courses and manicured lawns are all over which pollute the natural environment with fertilizers that run off into once pristine saltwater rivers and marshes. Gullah and Geechee, African American cultural languages and traditions once common in the area have been erased and their land stolen. Many years ago this area was beautiful, but not anymore... Most of my family members who were native of Beaufort county dating back hundreds of years have moved away because of this.

4/12/2020I lived in Wichita for several years and it was a great place to live, low crime for such a large city. Very diverse, lots to do, plenty of jobs and beautiful area.
