Hot Springs Village is a census-designated place in Garland and Saline counties located in Arkansas. It is an unincorporated community with a population of 12,807 people as of the 2010 census. Hot Springs Village operates under an elected mayor and board of directors which are responsible for enacting and enforcing local laws, regulations and ordinances. The mayor has the power to veto any action taken by the city council with two-thirds majority vote needed to override that veto. The city council is made up of seven members who are elected from each ward in the village and serve four-year terms. Elections are held every two years for alderman positions on either a partisan or nonpartisan basis depending on local statutes. Hot Springs Village's government works with state and federal representatives to ensure that their citizens have access to quality services such as education, medical care, fire protection, water supply, sewer systems, transportation infrastructure, parks, libraries and recreational facilities.
