Storrs, Connecticut is a small town located in the rural northeast region of the state. As a small community, it does not take part in many political decisions or activities. However, the town does have its own local government that is responsible for making decisions regarding zoning laws and other regulations. The mayor of Storrs serves as the executive head of the local government and is elected to a two-year term by residents of the town. The local government also consists of a Board of Selectmen, which oversees day-to-day operations and acts as an advisory board to the mayor. In addition to these roles, Storrs has several representatives in both the Connecticut House and Senate who represent citizens of Storrs on state issues. R if the Republican Party candidate won, D if the Democratic Party candidate won and I if the Independent Party candidate won.
