Coon Rapids, Iowa is a small town in Carroll County with a population of 2,231 as of the 2010 census. The town is governed by the Coon Rapids city council which consists of five members who are elected to serve two-year terms. The mayor and four council members are each voted on at-large and serve as the legislative body for the municipality. Additionally, Coon Rapids has an appointed Town Administrator who serves as the Chief Executive Officer responsible for implementing the policies set by the City Council. The city also has its own police department and fire department which help keep their citizens safe from harm. The people of Coon Rapids take pride in their local government and strive to make it a welcoming and vibrant place to live.
