Great Neck, NY is a village located in Nassau County on the North Shore of Long Island. It is known for its affluent population and excellent public schools. The politics of Great Neck are managed by a five-member Village Board that meets regularly to discuss issues and pass legislation. The board is composed of a mayor, two trustees, and two deputy mayors to handle day-to-day affairs within the village. Additionally, there are several committees and commissions that deal with issues such as Licensing & Permits, Public Works, Budget & Finance, Zoning & Planning, Economic Development, Police Protection Services, and Parks & Recreation. All members of these committees serve four year terms with elections occurring every two years. As an incorporated village in New York State, Great Neck also has representation in the state legislature through various Assembly Members and Senators for Nassau County who work to ensure that residents' voices are heard at all levels of government.

R if the Republican Party candidate won, D if the Democratic Party candidate won and I if the Independent Party candidate won. The six elections (2000, 2004, 2008, 2012, 2016, 2020) would be expressed as six-letter word (R R D R R).
