What racist redneck trash this person writes! My wife is Hispanic and we've lived here for 10 years. She is from Michoacán and SA is a great base from which to travel down into Mexico. I have a Ph.D. from the University of Michigan and worked as an archaeologist for years in Peru and Mexico. I've lived in Seattle, San Diego, Ann Arbor, and Lima, Peru and La Paz Bolivia, and speak fluent Spanish (M.A. degree, 7 years of actual residence in Latin America). We live in a $300,000 house and have many gringo friends and Hispanic family in SA, and have found the downtown area of the city to be delightful, as is the Paseo del Río, or River Walk. The bookstores are great and the restaurants sublime, as is the hiking along Leon Creek and in McAllister Park. People are generally friendly (far more so, than Detroit, for example, where drivers can be nasty mean). I don't know if the writer is African American or white, but I say good riddance to anyone with such obvious prejudices and who is so misinformed. Seems to me that she suffers from mental problems not to mention being a sociopath. Check out your own life, lady, and please do move on as soon as possible.
