Review of Springfield Misso, Rhode Island

My family currently lives in Illinos, about 20 minutes from St. Louis, MO. We are considering moving to Sprinfield, MO for a career change. I'm just curious about the type of town Springfield is. I've been researching statistics, but I would like to hear more from people who actually live there.

Is crime a huge problem? What are the school systems like? What are the best or most desireable parts of town to live in? Or, are there towns nearby that may be more desireable?

I would love to find a place with a little bit of land so my kids can run wild, what areas would be the best to look?

Any information will be greatly appreciated!
