Self-segregated, uneducated and reckless

Southern hospitality... that is just a well believed myth. People here think that by saying "hi, ha'you doing" they are being amicable (don't ask me how I am doing if you don't mean it and don't know me). As soon as they get in their cars, they all think the roads are one of those nascar tracks they seem to like so much. Forget using your turning lights, nobody does and they consider it a warning that you want to move in front of them; they would prefer to lose a limb than let you in. Driving at night without headlights, or seat belts, following too close, cutting you off with some dangerous maneuver just because you are staying at a safe distance of the car ahead of you, those are just a few things. People seem to have an irrational hate of everybody, even on sundays, all dressed-up after they leave their churches; they think that everybody is a racist, they think the civil war is still on, and that they need to break free from washington as if it still was the 1860's. Crime is very high and the police doesn't do much. For the most, just an uneducated, disrespectful and mostly ignorant bunch.
By the way, when people here reply to your comments saying "bless you" or any derivative of it, what they mean is a big insult.
