Review of Boise City, Idaho

The problem with Boise is it has too much of that "small" town vibe going; people will exclude you, snitch, & create drama. Too many Mormons & since it's a right to work state the wages suck & management treats you poorly. Their super conservative "values" are setting them up for failure; nobody wants to live in a place that's similar to Mississippi in the 40's. Rape/sexual assault crimes are high & the cops do nothing about you; drugs, especially a plant, is a bigger deal than a rapist. Idaho never did expand Medicaid, If you need help (Housing, food, etc) basically you better be pregnant or you're screwed. The men are very sexist & the women are so feeble minded that they tear other women apart & act as though they may die if they don't have a "man." No gun control because really, who needs safety?
California will ALWAYS beat out this backwoods, hillbilly place.

I read with some amusement your "outdated" comments regarding Boise, ID. Having moved from Fresno, CA to Boise in Nov. 2014, I can only say, "Thank God!" California, once (maybe 30+ years ago) a wonderful place in which to live and raise a family, has become, courtesy of its Democrat-dominated legislature, another failed, 3rd world state. They should rename it "Commie-fornia," due to the far-left, loonie politics that predominate there. And you, having lived in bankrupt Stockton, should know this all too well. Yeah, Idaho may be, in some ways, a little rough around the edges. But that's a small price to pay for living in a free, low-tax state, where the government is small and leaves its citizens alone to run their own lives. And even though housing prices may have been on the rise lately (too many Bay area and L.A. people driving up real estate values), most working people can still afford to purchase a decent home in the Boise area. So you can have, crime-ridden, gang-infested Stockton, CA. We don't need your marxist-types in Idaho spoiling our wonderful state. Adios, comrade!

How long have you lived in Boise? why are you still there? I can't decide if your a man or woman i'm guessing a woman. I'm wondering if you are trying to keep people from moving there cause of all the bad mouthing. Boise rates rates 72 out of a 100--places to live. I DO NOT LIVE THERE! That being said I will take all you've said to be true. They don't have medical Mary-Jane?

And you've lived in Boise how long? As far as I can tell Boise would be perfect as long as negative, mean-spirited folks such as yourself don't live there, Just sayin'

I lived in Boise for quite some time, and you seem to have a really negative outlook on the city. If you wanted California, you shouldn't have moved to Idaho. I loved the small town feel, as it made me feel welcome. People are friendly and will do what they can to help people. There are no huge traffic congestion problems which is great. Idaho is conservative and plans to stay that way. That's why it rates high on the quality of life charts for America's most livable cities. As for wages, they are relative to the cost of living there, so of course the wages won't be extremely high. As for your comment about management treating people poorly, I disagree. I had fantastic experiences with Boise and management, and they are always open to hearing your opinion to resolve issues. Overall, it sounds like you're better off in a liberal city that fits your lifestyle mindset.

You are typical of the Californian that should just go back to Cali. I am woman from California who loves it in Boise ... but then I take care of myself .. not dependent on welfare and govt. giveaways. So go back ... we won't miss you.

Lauren J, agree to disagree. Rents along with food are rising & the wages are staying low. Calling the cops on homeless individuals are not "kind" people. I've seen numerous people there being rude, condensing, judgmental assholes. The LDS scums have ran Idaho into the ground. Idaho will be a long, forgotten ghost town in a few year. Oh, & FYI nobody in California even knows what Idaho is. LOL.

Kimberly: I lived there for almost 6 years, left in August of this year. Yes, I am a woman. They don't have medical pot; I really don't think they'll ever legalize. I will say Boise is easy to get around & that's nice, but for me at least something feels "off" there. Minimum wage is $7.25 & Idaho is a right to work state; they don't back their workers. I did have a really good doctor in Boise, but the rest of the medical there is lacking, especially if you're a woman. Women (especially WOC) are basically the bottom of the pole there. We are not respected in any sense; I personally felt that women are seen as house wife incubators there. Crime is relatively low, but it's still there. For people in their 20's there's pretty much two groups of people: the ones getting married & having babies or they're addicted to various drugs. Idaho didn't expand Medicaid & I highly doubt they ever will. There's not a lot of help for low income or homeless individuals; people there look down on people whom are down on their luck. Weather in Boise is pretty mild, but winters get super cold, but I get cold easy, soooo. Idaho is pretty conservative; there's a few liberals but not a lot. My personal experience, what I've seen with my own eyes, are people there thrive off of being better than someone & trying to get someone else in trouble. I saw a homeless family in a store parking lot trying to charge up their phones. They constantly were going out & giving their dogs water every 5-10 minutes. The customers there called the police & animal control on them. Idaho isn't really a place to be if you value your privacy.

Funny commenting on crime and issues in Idaho while living in gang banger central Stockton California the murder capital of the world. There is no worse place to live than Stockton. California is a liberal crap hole. I want to go where people are free and not controlled by government. I want to earn my own way not be given things by the government. I'd bet you'd love the bay area if you could afford it. California gives away everything to poor people druggies, tax people to death for affordable housing for lazy uneducated nitwits. I for one am sick of paying for every misfit out there. And I love my ak47s. My Ar15s, and my standard magazines! Idaho here I come! As soon as my modest little house hits a half million in value ??.
